Hello 2016!

Happy New Year! I have said this before; I don’t really do resolutions. Last year I wrote about reflections on how 2015 would be our family trying to make sense of a normal world after the passing of our daughter, Lizzie. https://funfoodiefamily.com/2015/01/02/reflections-on-a-new-year/

For the most part it was a great year. Lots of family time and new adventures together; Beach trips, home renovations (2 bathrooms, 1 laundry room and almost done with my kitchen!!!), fun workout classes (I ❤ Barre), running (3 5k’s), lots of  books, park trips, spending time with friends, and of course lots of eating, drinking, and cooking!

I look forward to even more adventures in the new year! Enjoy the rest of this holiday weekend. Here are some of my favorite pictures of the year. See you soon for some pics of my new kitchen, my family, friends, food, and yummy recipes!

Kitchen Update…

We have counter tops!!!!025024022021Looks amazing! These next few weeks will be finishing the lighting, back splash, painting, and bathroom renovation. DIY makes this process a lot longer than if we hired a contractor (maybe depending on who you get), but we are so happy with how it is going. Until then our handy toaster oven and microwave are doing the trick. Lots of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,  cereal, but also using my awesome neighbors’ kitchen to cook as well.

Tonight is Christmas Eve dinner- recap later…

Tomorrow is CHRISTMAS!!! We always go to the local Chinese restaurant with our close family friends.

This coming week may have some enchiladas, steak (Becca has requested), and a few other food projects I have up my sleeve 😉

Our sweet little Christmas tree. Since we are in major renovation mode, this little guy is all we can do this year. I think it will become a new tradition to have it up somewhere in the house every year.
